ActiveCampaign
The ActiveCampaign integration links Nybero to the CRM you already use. It works in both directions: a WhatsApp opt-in widget you build in Nybero and embed next to your ActiveCampaign form captures verified WhatsApp numbers into both systems, and answers your contacts give in WhatsApp (forms, automations) can be pushed back to ActiveCampaign as tags and field values.
You’ll find everything under Integrations → ActiveCampaign in the app.
What the integration does
From your website into ActiveCampaign and Nybero:
- A visitor fills in your ActiveCampaign form on your landing page and ticks the Enable WhatsApp reminder checkbox.
- The Nybero widget shows a WhatsApp button (and optionally a QR code) with a personal verification code.
- The visitor sends the prefilled message — Nybero captures their real, verified WhatsApp number, records the opt-in, and writes the number and verification status back to the ActiveCampaign contact.
From Nybero into ActiveCampaign:
- Tags on opt-in — each opt-in setup can assign ActiveCampaign tags the moment a lead verifies.
- Answers from WhatsApp forms — with Send to ActiveCampaign (push to CRM) enabled on a form, answers are written to ActiveCampaign fields (see Forms).
- Automation steps — Set ActiveCampaign tag and Set ActiveCampaign field let any automation update the linked ActiveCampaign contact.
Connect your ActiveCampaign account
You only do this once, on the Settings tab.
- In ActiveCampaign, go to Settings → Developer and copy your API access URL and API key.
- In Nybero, open Integrations → ActiveCampaign and switch to the Settings tab.
- Paste the URL into ActiveCampaign account URL (it looks like
https://youraccount.api-us1.com). - Paste the key into API key.
- Tick Integration active and click Save connection.
- Click Test connection — you should see “Connection OK ✓”.
Create the WhatsApp fields in ActiveCampaign
Still on the Settings tab, click Create fields in ActiveCampaign. Nybero creates two custom fields in your AC account:
- a hidden token field — carries the verification code, your leads never see it,
- a visible checkbox field called “Enable WhatsApp reminder” — the consent checkbox.
Add both fields to your ActiveCampaign form (the form you embed on your landing page). They apply to all opt-in setups, so this is a one-time step. If you ever need to start over, Reset fields removes them again.
Optional: where verification data is written
Under Custom field IDs (optional) you can point Nybero at three custom fields in ActiveCampaign that get filled after a successful verification:
| Field | What Nybero writes |
|---|---|
| WhatsApp number | The verified number in international format |
| Verified (yes/no) | yes once the number is verified |
| Service window until | When the current 24-hour WhatsApp window closes |
You find the IDs in ActiveCampaign under Settings → Manage Fields (the ID is in the URL when editing a field). Tags are applied even without these IDs — they just add extra data you can use in AC automations.
Build the opt-in widget
The widget is what your visitors see on your website. You design it visually — no code needed until the final copy-paste.
An opt-in setup bundles one widget design plus its behaviour (message, tags). You can have several — for example one per funnel. Use the dropdown in the top bar to switch between setups, + Setup to create a new one, and the pencil icon to rename.
Design tab — the element builder
The Design tab is a free-form builder. Add elements from the palette on the left, click an element on the canvas to edit its properties, and drag to reorder:
- Text — headings and paragraphs, with alignment and basic formatting.
- WhatsApp button — the verification button (one per setup). Style it freely: colors, border, radius, padding, font size, shadow, full width, optional WhatsApp icon — or apply a one-click preset (WhatsApp green, Green + icon, Pill, Outline, Dark, Plain). The button can also show a QR code so desktop visitors can scan with their phone.
- Image — e.g. your logo or a preview of the reminder message.
- QR code — a dedicated QR block with a caption (“Scan the code with your phone’s WhatsApp camera”).
- Divider and Spacer — visual structure.
Not sure where to start? Pick a Quick template: Enable reminder (heading + text + green button), Button only, or Button + QR.
WhatsApp opt-in tab — behaviour
- One page or Two pages: with One page, the widget appears below your form on the same page (the button shows after the form is submitted). With Two pages, the form is on page 1 and the WhatsApp button appears on your thank-you page.
- Predefined WhatsApp message — the text that opens prefilled in WhatsApp when the lead taps the button. The placeholder
{{code}}is replaced with the personal verification code; it must stay in the text (otherwise Nybero appends it), because the code is how the number gets matched. - Apply Nybero tags on opt-in — Nybero tags assigned to the contact after verification. Ideal for starting automations with the “Tag added” trigger or building segments.
- Assign ActiveCampaign tags on opt-in — tags set on the contact directly in ActiveCampaign as soon as they verify through this setup. Tags that don’t exist yet are created automatically in AC.
Embed the widget on your website
Open the Embed tab. Nybero generates a small script snippet per setup — the script itself is hosted by Nybero, so your page always loads the current version.
- Click Copy snippet.
- Paste it into your landing page:
- One page mode: paste the snippet directly below your ActiveCampaign form. The included
<div id="nybero-wa">marks where the button appears after the visitor submits the form. - Two pages mode: you get two snippets — A goes on the form page (below the form), B goes on the thank-you page, exactly where the button should render.
- One page mode: paste the snippet directly below your ActiveCampaign form. The included
- Publish the page and submit the form once yourself to test.
What your lead experiences
- They fill in your form (name, email, …) and tick Enable WhatsApp reminder.
- The WhatsApp button appears (same page or thank-you page). On desktop they can scan the QR code instead.
- Tapping the button opens WhatsApp with a prefilled message containing their personal code (e.g.
WA-K7M2P9). - They hit send — that’s the opt-in. Nybero matches the code, stores the verified number, logs the consent, and sends a confirmation reply.
- In ActiveCampaign, the contact now has the verified number, the “verified” flag, and any ActiveCampaign tags you configured. In Nybero, the contact is created with confirmed opt-in and your Nybero tags — and the 24-hour window is open, so you can message them right away.
Track sign-ups
The Embed tab also shows Recent verifications — each sign-up with contact, setup, code, WhatsApp number, and status (Pending, Verified, or Expired). Great for checking that your embed works after you publish.
Push form answers and tags to ActiveCampaign
Beyond the opt-in itself, two more paths carry data into ActiveCampaign:
- WhatsApp forms: in the form builder, enable Send to ActiveCampaign (push to CRM). You can set an AC tag on every submission and map each form field to an ActiveCampaign field (Fields → ActiveCampaign field). When a contact submits the form in chat, their answers land in your CRM.
- Automation steps: in the automation builder, the ActiveCampaign step group offers Set ActiveCampaign tag (assigned to the linked AC contact, created in AC if new) and Set ActiveCampaign field (writes a value into any AC field — e.g. “Yes” into a checkbox). Use these to mirror progress from your WhatsApp funnel into AC — “attended webinar”, “booked call”, and so on.
Worked example: webinar leads with WhatsApp reminders
Say you’re a coach running webinars, and your landing page already has an ActiveCampaign form that subscribes leads to your webinar list.
- Connect your AC account (Settings tab) and click Create fields in ActiveCampaign. Add the hidden token field and the “Enable WhatsApp reminder” checkbox to your webinar form in AC.
- Create a setup called “Webinar opt-in”. On the Design tab, use the Enable reminder quick template and restyle the button to match your brand.
- On the WhatsApp opt-in tab, choose Two pages (your funnel has a thank-you page), keep the predefined message, and set:
- Apply Nybero tags on opt-in:
webinar-june - Assign ActiveCampaign tags on opt-in:
WA reminder active
- Apply Nybero tags on opt-in:
- On the Embed tab, copy snippet A onto the form page and snippet B onto the thank-you page.
- In Nybero, build an automation with the trigger Tag added →
webinar-june: send a welcome message immediately, then reminder templates 24 hours and 15 minutes before the webinar.
The result: every registrant lands on your AC list as usual — and everyone who ticks the checkbox and verifies gets your reminders on WhatsApp, with the verified number and a WA reminder active tag right there in ActiveCampaign.
